Siderean Software’s Growth in 2006 Validates Success of Relational Navigation

Successful Year Highlighted by Key Customer Acquisitions

El Segundo, Calif., January 29, 2007

Siderean Software, the leading provider of relational navigation solutions, today reported record revenue growth for 2006 highlighted by several key customer wins. Over the past year, Siderean has made significant progress expanding its relational navigation solutions footprint across a range of vertical markets, including media, high tech and government. Among the companies that have begun using Siderean’s solutions are Oracle Corporation, the world’s largest enterprise software company; Snap-On Incorporated, a global manufacturer of tools and diagnostic equipment; Elsevier, the world’s largest publisher of scientific and technical research; Aelera, a leading provider of consulting, development and managed service solutions; Librarians’ Internet Index (LII.org), the highly-regarded information source for librarians; the US Department of Defense and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. As a result, Siderean more than doubled in revenue year-over-year.

The company’s record performance in 2006 can be attributed to the explosive growth and dramatic changes in how information across the enterprise is being produced and consumed. People are demanding more information, from more points of view, and for more ways to participate than ever before. These requirements are fueling the need for new approaches, based on Siderean’s information access platform solution, Seamark Navigator, which through patented relational navigation capabilities provides unified discovery, access and participation.

“Last year was a banner year for Siderean, and we look forward to continued growth and success as organizations search for new solutions to aggregate and navigate their vast information sources while leveraging the collective knowledge and experiences of all participants in that process,” said Michael Schmitt, President and CEO of Siderean. “The supply of and demand for information is exploding, and we have gotten to the point where content itself is no longer enough to keep customers coming back to your site. Siderean’s relational navigation solutions provide our customers with the context to back up the content, illuminating dynamic relationships for data across information sources across the enterprise and on the web to deliver high value, high impact information to users in a personalized and intuitive way.”

“Aelera is very pleased to be partnering with Siderean,” said Jim Giombetti, chief marketing officer at Aelera. “Knowledge workers today waste too much time and money looking for the information they need to do their jobs. Our MightyDeck platform leverages the superior information access and navigation capabilities of Siderean’s easy-to-use Seamark Navigator to help companies work smarter and faster. Because of the power of Siderean’s relational navigation solutions, we’re able to provide low-cost tools that enable knowledge workers to transform information into intelligence. As a result, our clients improve productivity, leading to cost savings, and greater competitive advantage in the marketplace."

Beyond customer and revenue growth, 2006 was an important year for Siderean as the company gained experienced leadership for strategic direction. In October, Siderean named Michael Schmitt as the company’s new CEO. Prior to joining Siderean, Schmitt served as Ariba’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, helping to develop and implement Ariba’s turnaround strategy. Prior to Ariba Schmitt spent eight years at JD Edwards in Sales and General Management executive positions. Earlier in 2006 Siderean made two new hires to help round out the executive management team, hiring Brian Anderson as vice president of marketing and Jack Berkowitz as vice president of engineering. The additions to the executive management team join Founder and CTO Bradley Allen, whose vision and leadership continue to help guide Siderean.

Siderean also dedicated resources throughout 2006 to cutting-edge product development. In April Siderean shipped Seamark Navigator 4.0, the company’s flagship information access platform, enabling business users to navigate and manage all types of structured and unstructured information across the enterprise. That was followed by the release of Seamark Navigator 4.1 later in the year, highlighted by enhanced ease-of-use, enhanced visualizations and analytics capabilities. In December Siderean received validation from the industry for its innovative solutions when the company was included in the EContent 100, an award given by EContent magazine to the 100 companies that matter most in the digital content industry.
